Lisa Cameron a Tourism Rising Star

We are so excited to announce that Tilma Group’s director, Lisa Cameron, has been named a finalist in the 2015 Australian Regional Tourism Network’s (ARTN) MyTravelResearch.com Young Tourism Professionals Award.

As one of five young people contesting the award from around Australia, Lisa has the opportunity to not just receive the title, but also a 12 month professional development mentoring program and be welcomed as an ex officio ARTN Board member for the next 12 months.

The ARTN is the peak national body that represents regional tourism and works with its industry partners, the State Tourism Organisations, to conduct the annual awards.

“The future of tourism in Australia rests firmly in the hands of the young professionals who are currently learning, training and developing their skills to lead the industry forward in the decades ahead” said David Sheldon, Chair of the Australian Regional Tourism Network (ARTN).

The ARTN MyTravelResearch.com Young Tourism Professionals Award is designed to recognise and reward young professionals and retain them as part of the regional tourism’s workforce.

Lisa conducted her 6 month University internship with the ARTN in 2010, so this recognition is extra special for her.

“It was during my time with ARTN that I developed a real passion for regional tourism and events, working as the Operations Coordinator for the 2010 Australian Regional Tourism Convention. I am thrilled to receive this opportunity and am thoroughly looking forward to the October convention,” Lisa said.

The winner will be announced at the ARTN’s annual Convention in October this year.

But wait, there's more!

Lisa has also been announced as a finalist in the 2015 Murray-Riverina Regional Business Awards for Young Business Executive of the year!

The winners will be announced at a gala dinner on Friday 2nd October in Albury.

Please join us in wishing Lisa the best of luck!
