Industry Development and Training

Tilma Group develops and delivers industry development TOOLKITS and workshops tailored to meet the needs of a region’s tourism operators.

Tilma Group consults with clients to gain insights into their current situation and the challenges faced by local operators in order to design a suitable program that is practical and useful to participants.

We determine the delivery method most suited to the participants that will ensure the best outcomes, such as

  • interactive online webinar or face to face workshop

  • presented to a group (which encourages collaboration) or one on one mentoring

  • short intensive training or ongoing development over a longer time.

Lastly, we deliver the training.

Our event management training program rEVENTS Academy supports the revitalisation and viability of regional festivals and events. Its online webinars and DIY templates build the skills of event committees. rEVENTS Academy is the most affordable way for regional events to leverage the expertise of Tilma Group.

City of Wagga Wagga engaged Linda Tillman to deliver two workshops on agritourism and events for our local businesses and events organisers. All who attended found Linda’s experience, passion and enthusiasm for regional tourism inspiring. Topics covered were relevant and engaging, and everything flowed smoothly. City of Wagga Wagga was very impressed and will no doubt look towards having Linda back in the future to build on what we started.

Toolkits

We develop toolkits for Councils to provide to operators and event organisers to help them deliver the best possible visitor experience and effectively support destination marketing. These can either be hosted as pages on Council’s website or as graphic designed pdf documents.

Case studies

Best of Brisbane Region Experiences Support Program

With JJ Strategic Consulting, Tilma Group developed a guide and a supporting mentoring program to support businesses across the Brisbane region to increase their positive word of mouth recommendations and sales through the delivery of exceptional customer experiences.

The Guide is delivered as a series of 13 modules in pdf form, hosted on Brisbane Economic Development Agency’s website. The modules step businesses through a business development pathway, and TEQ’s Best of Queensland Experiences (BoQE) criteria, with useful case studies and links to resources.

The mentoring program is an 11-week program where businesses are guided through the BoQE program, and encouraged to enhance their experiences based on the changing expectations of visitors.

Event Management Toolkit

Our rEVENTS Academy developed a template for a complete event management guide for Councils to host on their website to help event organisers more efficiently manage their event, and more easily navigate securing approvals from Council and other regulators. The guide covers all aspects of event planning, promotion, delivery and review, including approvals, and hire of Council-managed venues.

Councils can add over 30 white labelled event management templates to the guide such as templates for a risk management plan, a marketing plan, and a sustainable event plan.

The toolkit is delivered as webpages, or a downloadable pdf version.
